Another enjoyable weekend had in Plymouth out on the club RIB , with some of the member from the club enjoying the start of the month out on, and under the water.
Weather for the weekend was mostly overcast but still warm, with some braver members donning the semi-dry!
The group was predominately experienced members of the team with one of our newly qualified divers on his first ocean visit.
First site selected was the HMS Scylla, first posted about here:
Visibility was okay at around 4-5 m, and entry was via a shot line dropped a short distance from the Scylla.
A fantastic view for TT's first ocean dive, kindly being dropped right by the bouy.
Sand Brittlestar not liking the look of our member coming past.
Second site was Rame Head, a short distance from the Scylla this site offers a flatter floor and faster moving water for drift dives.
Below KP and MD showing how to keep their buddy in arms reach ready for the camera.
The following dives were at Cawsands bay and Mew Stone , offering a variety of life including Sole, Rays and Octopus!
Above is a cutting of video looking at a decent sized Sole, camouflaging well into the sand .
Above is a brief view at a Thornback Ray (Actually belongs to the skate family). Looking in its element, as they feed off small floor dwelling creatures.
As always the evening ending at the campsite ,sharing food, drinks and good times! (And Marshmallows obviously)
The weekend was a great success and nothing but smiling faces throughout and when giving all the details of the dives at the clubs normal meet up!
As always so much thanks given to all those getting the boat prepped for launching and for storage, all those required to organise, and those to capture so many happy memories!
